Shane is passionate about helping individuals and their families, as well as business owners and their employees, create successful financial outcomes through the use of well-coordinated planning that takes into account the clients’ unique goals.
Though he guides clients through numerous parts of their planning, he spends the bulk of his time helping companies and individuals in the areas of investment and retirement planning, executive benefits, business succession, life, long-term care and long-term disability insurance, and estate and charitable planning. The PFG team has a combined 250 years of experience designing, implementing and monitoring financial solutions for the clients they’re so privileged to serve.
Shane joined J.R. Burke and Perspective Financial Group, An Alera Group Company, in 2011, after gaining valuable industry experience with two prior companies beginning in 2003. Shane became a partner of the firm in 2018. Clients appreciate his broad knowledge and genuine concern for their interests and goals. He has spent his entire career as a student of the business, with lifelong learning and relationship building as primary guiding principles.
Shane graduated from Shippensburg University with a BSBA, and dual major in finance and economics and remains active with the university as a Board Member for the John L. Grove College of Business Advisory Board. He is an alumnus of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. He had the opportunity to study international business finance and economics while living abroad, at the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark. He holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), and Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designations from The American College, as well and is an Accredited Estate Planner® Designee (AEP®). He is a member of the Chester County and Philadelphia Estate Planning Councils, the latter on which he currently serves as Board Member, and Co-Chair of the Social Media Committee. Shane is a former Board Member for the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP). He is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). In 2022-2025 he qualified for the Top of the Table. The MDRT’s Top of the Table is an exclusive forum for the world’s most successful life insurance and financial services professionals. Those who qualify demonstrate a commitment to providing exemplary client service, while displaying the highest standards of ethics and professional knowledge. Lastly, Shane has been named as a Forbes Best-In-State Financial Security Professional in the state of Pennsylvania since 2023.
A resident of Chester Springs, Shane enjoys the quiet suburban lifestyle and quick access to the many parks and trails and fishing streams he frequents. His greatest joy is spending time with his wife, Olivia, and their four children. They are deeply rooted in their faith and engaged in numerous serving capacities with Christ First Church in Lionville. Shane and the family are also actively involved in numerous non-profit organizations; one devoted to serving the needs of Veterans and others focused on Multiple Sclerosis and Autism. He and his family are active supporters of The Highmark Mann Center for the Performing Arts where he serves as part of their Ambassador Program, and also on their Chairman’s Council. The Council is comprised of former board members and major donors who are willing to be ambassadors for The Highmark Mann—individuals with a passion for furthering its mission and who bring skills and knowledge that will complement those of the formal governing Board of Directors. This organization is where the family’s love of music and their charitable intents collide given the Highmark Mann’s commitment to providing free access to arts and education programs for disadvantaged youth in Philadelphia.
